PRKPhotorefractive Keratectomy (PRK) involves the use of an excimer laser to shave the corneal surface, flattening the cornea and thereby reducing myopia. It is very accurate and the success rate is extremely high. This is especially true for those with low to moderate levels of myopia. Most patients experience discomfort or pain for a day or two after PRK, but this can be controlled with medication. Good vision is usually achieved within one to three weeks.
The laser flattens the cornea by removing surface layers (PRK). VeriSyse Lens Implant - Alternative to Laser Vision Correction |
